I have been teaching since 1994 in the field of science. I have a sociology degree from Midwestern State University, teacher certification with a specialty in Earth science from University of North Texas, and a masters in science teaching degree from University of Texas at Dallas.  I have taught 2nd thru 8th grade science throughout my career, but enjoy teaching middle school-aged students the best. I taught 11 years at Trenton ISD, 2 years at Princeton ISD, and at Tom Bean ISD since 2006. I enjoy roller skating, camping, collecting rocks, working on old houses, reading and sewing. I also travel whenever I can to broaden my horizons and bring back some of that knowledge to share with my students.

“To Strive, To Seek, and not To Yield” by Alfred Lord Tennyson is one of my favorite quotes. I believe that one should strive for excellence in teaching, seek new techniques and technology to enhance learning, and not to yield to mediocrity.
