I am a Business Education graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with graduate hours from the University of Houston.  Student teaching was performed at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, TX.  I have worked as a coordinator for GED and ESL classes throughout East Harris County as well as literacy classes working within Exxon, Shell, DuPont and other chemical companies in the Houston ship channel area.   I started my teaching career in a 1200+ student high school on the outskirts of Houston and loved it!  Moving closer to home, I started teaching at Tom Bean in 2004, and have learned to love the middle school student as well.  I teach Tech Apps to 8th graders, where they learn the basics of computers and Microsoft Office.  I am the sponsor of SADD (a program that helps discourage students from making destruction decisions) and create the newsletter for the middle school.  Classic cars, outdoor activities, travel, family and animals are a big part of my life.

I believe a good teacher can explain, demonstrate and prepare students to help them achieve and produce to the best of their ability.  I am an optimistic and caring person who imparts those character traits upon the individuals I am around.  I believe all students can learn, and a good teacher can explain and assist students to become better citizens and life-long learners.
